05-01-2010 Buyer Guides now published in six different languages

The Procure IT Fair network has developed a guide for public purchasers on how to include social criteria in the process of public procurement. The guide was first published in German in May 2009. It has since been translated in five other languages and adapted to the national context of Austria, Czech Republic, France, Hungary and The Netherlands. The English version is a direct translation of the German guide.
As the guide is now available in several major European languages, it now has a large target audience. Procure IT Fair's goal is that sustainable procurement is used as a tool to enhance the working conditions and overall sustainability throughout the supply chains of computers. Procure IT Fair believes that if the recommendations in this guide are applied by public purchasers throughout Europe, this can have significant effects.
